If only for the fact that this supermarket is open 24 hours and has self-checkouts available, I'm grateful that it's there. This place really came in handy when I was in desperate need of fruit (don't ask) at late night during a recent trip. I'm not sure what my perspective would be if I lived in the area and this supermarket was one of the options for grocery shopping, though. The store is fairly large and has kind of a dollar store vibe which is not necessarily flattering. Otherwise, once again I'm glad they're open 24 hours.
Excellent selection, service. Prices competitive. Constantly restocking shelves so know inventory. Has self-service checkout for small orders. Can buy bananas here for less than anywhere else.
Store is clean. Has many options that other ShopRite don't have, such as fresh nuts and fresh coffee. Store is always stocked well. Worth the drive in from Queens to shop.
Shop Rite is not my regular 'go to' market and every-time I go there I ask myself, "why not." This is just a great market. While this location does not have the easiest in and out off the main road, it's not that tough and they have a very large lot in this shopping which easily accommodates the crowd. The store is very big and bright. This is a very large location that is extremely well stocked with all the regular amenities of a good food market, fresh fish counter, large deli, butcher and bakery. The isles are large enough to go through comfortably and have a nice layout where you can stop in certain spots and not be in anyone's way. Everything they have, they have in large quantity and multiple brands. I particularly like the way they have a great fish counter and right around the corner a wonderful selection of frozen fish. A great bakery then plenty of wrapped merchandise. They have a great selection of meat and a very nice frozen section too. There is a great selection of canned food as well as fresh vegetables. I like their prepared food selection and a place where you can sit and eat it too. This shop really has a good handle on serving their clients. I was also pleased at the responsiveness of their staff. Everyone I speak to here knew where to send me for what I was looking for and some even walked me to the spot. There are plenty of check out lanes that move quickly. KUDO's to Shoprite in Newe Hyde Park. This review is written during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Shop Rite is monitoring the clients walking in and spraying down the cart handles. They are doing a MAGNIFICENT job of keeping their customer safe.
